Discuss: Rules and Regulation

Posted by wj

How much is truly too much? When do officials go to far in their effort to enforce rules? How rigid should the system of order be? Would a sweet really cause the downfall of SMRT as we know it?

appreciating the little things

~ appreciating the little things

the little chameleon that runs across my path and climbs up the tree and then out of sight as i headed out from my client's place,
children streaming out from school and absolutely raucous and out of control, walking, running and obstructing my way, the happiness palpable in the air,
a hot day that makes one feel sticky and wish that there is aircon everywhere,
the bus that took some time to come amid the heavy traffic,
and me finally taking a rest on that cool transportation, moving towards a cooler place, my office

Translated Lyrics(credits to JS):

A long long time ago
from a place called heaven,
a divine plan was made
just for you.

God looked down upon you
and said, "This is good.
With my own two hands,
I have made you more precious
than anything in this world.
I rejoice because of you
and I love you."

We love you and bless you.

Meaningful eh..

I got remembered of this song we learn in primary school..
Nobody likes me, everybody hates me,
Guess I'll go and eat some worms,
long, thin, slimy ones; short, fat, juicy ones,
Itsy, bitsy, fuzzy wuzzy worms.

Down goes the first one, down goes the second one,
Oh how they wiggle and squirm.
Up comes the first one, up comes the second one,
Oh how they wiggle and squirm.

Friends say making-up is a form of politeness to others, giving a "polished finish", it can be fun making-up, playing around with colours, and some say it's an art-a skill and a craft. Without foundation/powder, the feeling of stickiness and the oil produced by the glands/hormones may be a little uncomfortable. Oil blotter is not good for the face as more oil will be produced after using it. Women have worn make-up for centuries and as girls grow up to a lady, self-awareness is born. Society is partly why women put on make-up. Otherwise, based on each unique personality and character, some girls feel more confident by putting make-up, perfume, accessories and dress well (does not have to follow the fashion) to look good. It cannot be explained but felt solely by that individual. Just the same as why men put aftershave. Part of good grooming. To look beautiful is however not as important as the person you are, the inside... and learning and doing things to cultivate the soul. :) Most men look at other pretty and beautiful women (some are even attached or married) That is a reason why outward presentation is important...

First impression is important in the working life...especially in interviews. Inner presentation is even more important. Both go hand in hand. Botox injections and plastic surgery done for one's career, for example look at celebrities around. We can easily pick few out of 20 who does either one. If it's for a personal reason, it could be vanity or for men? -.- They have waste their money on these in exchange for other things that cannot be bought for money...

Discuss: Outward presentation

I was thinking of writing an article analysing the outward appearance. But I think it is better to leave it to discussion. The floor is open to the bold, the silly, and the downright ridiculous.

Why do we waste money on makeup, accessories, fashionable clothes, or to a greater extent of plastic surgery and botox injections? Is the first impression really that important? Does making oneself presentable a form of self-assurance or self-confidence? Why waste several hundred dollars on something branded(i.e. specs... lol)?

P.S. Where is Joyce, Linda and Laiteck?

Joke of The Day fish and worms

Peter: John, if you had eaten more fish, you will not need to wear spectacles now.
John: Why?
Peter: Cats eat fish. Have you seen any cats wearing spectacles? Ha! Ha!
John: ( Angry ) Hey Peter, haven't you always wanted to fly?
Peter: Yes! Of course!
John: Then you should eat more worms.
Peter: ( Surprise ) Why?
John: Well, birds eat worms. And They can fly. Ha! Ha! Ha!

Joy Is My Compass

Ahoy mates! Arrrr, it looks like matey be talking happiness. This be good! ~ Joy and happiness walk in tune.

It all begins like this...
"Pick out a treat," I offered four-year-old Crystal at the candy display. Quickly she grabbed a packet of M&M's with one hand and Mars bar with the other.
"You can have only one," I told her.
"Eenie, meenie, miney, moe," she counted, finally landing on the M&M's.
"Okay, we get the M&M's, " I confirmed.
Immediately, Crystal threw the M&M's back in the bin and clutched the Mars bar. " I want this one."
Within our hearts, each of us knows what we really wants. While our mind and emotions may go through all manner of drama and machinations, when we are confronted with the reality of choice, our heart will speak. Sometimes it is only when we receive what we do not want that we recognize what we do want.
When confronted with a difficult decision, flip a coin and imagine that you will be committed to the alternative the spin lands on. Then notice your gut reaction to the result. If you feel delighted, that is your path. If you are disappointed, go with the other alternative. Joy is the best compass.
